Skill Hub — Decision & Validation

Make evidence-based decisions and validate requirements before they become expensive defects.

Skills for evaluating alternatives, mapping risks and dependencies, building evidence-based recommendations, reviewing requirements for quality, tracing requirements through design and test, and deriving concrete test scenarios. Usable on enterprise, SAP, and integration projects where every decision must be defensible and every requirement must be verifiable.

What this group covers

Decision & Validation skills help you evaluate options and validate work products before they enter implementation. They provide structured methods for comparing alternatives, assessing risk and dependency, building recommendations with evidence, reviewing requirements for completeness and consistency, tracing requirements from origin to verification, and converting requirements into testable scenarios.

These skills are cross-domain. They apply to SAP implementations, integration projects, data governance initiatives, architecture decisions, and operational improvement. They are designed to be used together: a decision without validation is a guess, and validation without a clear decision context is waste.

Each skill page includes: a working method, diagnostic questions, decision rules, artifact templates, quality checklists, and specific instructions for AI agents.

When to use this group

Skills in this group

Trade-off Analysis

Evaluate competing objectives by identifying what must be sacrificed, what must be protected, and what criteria make the decision defensible.

Option Comparison Matrix

Compare alternatives side-by-side using weighted criteria so that the best option is visible and the rationale is auditable.

Risk Dependency Mapping

Map what depends on what, identify single points of failure, and expose hidden assumptions before they become blockers.

Evidence-Based Recommendation

Build recommendations that are supported by data, traceable to sources, and structured for stakeholder decision-making.

Requirements Review Checklist

Review requirements for completeness, consistency, testability, and feasibility before they are approved for implementation.

Traceability Matrix

Map requirements to source, design, test, and release so that every requirement can be traced from origin to verification.

Test Scenario Derivation

Derive concrete test scenarios from requirements and acceptance criteria so that testers know exactly what to verify.

Recommended path through this group

  1. Trade-off Analysis — Understand what is being decided and what is at stake.
  2. Option Comparison Matrix — Compare the alternatives on equal terms.
  3. Risk Dependency Mapping — Expose what could break the decision before it is made.
  4. Evidence-Based Recommendation — Build the recommendation with evidence and clear rationale.
  5. Requirements Review Checklist — Validate that requirements are ready before implementation.
  6. Traceability Matrix — Trace approved requirements through design, test, and release.
  7. Test Scenario Derivation — Convert requirements into concrete test scenarios before development begins.

How this group connects to other skills

Status and limitations

This is a public working interpretation of decision analysis and validation practices. It is not official BABOK, IIBA, ISTQB, or SAP documentation. These skills are designed for practical use on real projects, not for certification study.

Every skill page includes a verification status and limitations section. Use these skills as structured starting points, not as authoritative framework substitutes. Some skills in this group reference tools, templates, or practices that may need adaptation for your organization's ALM or test management environment.
